Bodegas Alejandro Fernández Tinto Pesquera Janus Gran Reserva 2003
Detailed info
« Janus is the Roman god of transitions, choices, beginnings and ends. The choice of name for this vintage was especially fitting given that it was made for the first time in 1982 by combining a modern vintage made from destemmed grapes with a traditional vintage made from foot-pressed grapes. This unique wine has only been made six times in the last 30 years, during exceptional vintages only, with the last one being in 2003. Robert Parker described the Janus 1982 as the Petrus of Spain. Upon tasting, the wine reveals the damp earth and truffle notes that are evocative of this great Pomerol. This intense wine with aromas of stewed black fruit, chocolate and sweet spices never fails to impress.»
