À DÉCOUVRIR L'ÉMILIE-ROMAGNE

THE REGION

Emilia-Romagna, as the hyphenated name suggests, is a region in the north of Italy made up of the two provinces. A paradise for wine and food lovers, the region is renowned for its Parmesan, prosciutto, balsamic vinegar and Sangiovese.

THE WINES

Lambrusco wines are very widespread in the region. These are simple, fresh and fruity reds; the perfect pairing for a plate of local charcuteries. Youthful Sangiovese wines are also quite appreciated for their charming fruit and suppleness. When it comes to whites, the series of hillsides and diverse soils yield a wide variety of styles; fresh, dry, or dolce, there’s something for every taste.

The ambitious renovations, including the family farm, were done with the intention to produce top-quality wines that marry innovation, modernity, art, culture and tradition. The vision was a success and is well-illustrated in this white. The seductive cuvee is a blend of Sauvignon Blanc (40%), Malvasia Aromatica di Candia (40%) and Chardonnay (20%).

Organic product

Primo Segno is decorated with the highest honours ("Tre Bicchieri", which stands for three wine glasses) from none other than the "bible" of Italian wine, the Gambero Rosso guide. The seven-hectare estate, officially certified organic, stands out by deliberately choosing to forgo barrel-aging for its Sangiovese.  Before being released for sale, it will however age 12 months in bottle.
