Rosemont Sureau

Little known despite its presence in our countryside, elder is showcased in this liqueur from the Distillerie de Montréal. The flowers, gathered in Estrie, are quickly infused and then distilled to preserve all their freshness, while the berries, harvested later in the season, are fermented and then distilled in turn. The blend of these two expressions, enhanced with a touch of cane sugar, results in a balanced liqueur that evokes both the plant and the fruit. The outcome is remarkable: less sweet than many liqueurs of its kind, it can be enjoyed as an aperitif or used to add a refreshing touch to cocktails, especially with bubbles in a Hugo spritz.
