The SAQ recently announced its plan to end the systematic and free distribution of cardboard boxes to its customers, effective August 1.

I now recognize that this decision was not the right one. It raised legitimate concerns among our customers and employees.

The decision was made following thorough analysis and discussions, particularly within the management team, where a range of viewpoints was expressed. I believed in the decision. But believing in a decision doesn’t stop us from remaining open to feedback.

I say this with humility: we were on the wrong track with this decision. I believe we all have the right to make mistakes, provided we acknowledge them and adjust course.

Therefore, I confirm that used cardboard boxes will remain available in our stores for customers who request them for carrying bottles they purchase.

I would like to thank everyone who expressed their concerns respectfully and frankly.
