A lower carbon bottle

The vodka you love so much is now available in new PET (polyethylene terephthalate) plastic packaging. In addition to emitting less greenhouse gases, you will certainly enjoy the lighter weight of the bottle to take it from our store to your home bar. 

Compared to its glass version, this plastic bottle, 85% lighter, allows an estimated reduction of more than 30% in greenhouse gases emitted over its entire life cycle.

This new plastic bottle...

  • causes less GHG: A reduction of more than 30% in greenhouse gas emissions over the entire life cycle of the Smirnoff PET plastic bottle, compared to the glass bottle; 
  • is lighter: Each empty bottle is 85% lighter (from 471g in glass to 67g in plastic). The weight of the boxes is 35% less than that of boxes containing glass bottles, helping to reduce the loads lifted by our employees, but also to reduce the quantity of fuel used for their transport;  
  • is easily recyclable: PET plastic is recyclable and will therefore have a second life! This type of resin is well sorted by sorting centers in Quebec and effectively recycled because of its high demand on the markets.; 
  • does not alter the taste at all : The Smirnoff vodka retains its same neutral taste.
