Margarita


- 45 ml (1 1/2 oz.) tequila
- 8 ml (1/4 oz.) citrus liqueur
- Juice of 1/2 a lime
- Ice cubes
- Fine salt
- 1 lime wedge
Rim a margarita glass with fine salt.
Pour the tequila and citrus liqueur into a shaker filled with ice cubes.
Add the lime juice.
Shake vigorously for 8 to 10 seconds.
Strain into the margarita glass using an ice strainer.
Garnish with the lime wedge.
Pro tip:
For a perfectly slushy consistency, make this drink in the electric blender with a lot of ice.

The Margarita was invented in 1948 by Margarita Sames of Mexico. When entertaining guests from all over the globe, she served a mixture of tequila, lime juice and Cointreau. These guests were delighted by the cocktail and honoured their host by naming the drink after her.
