The Société des alcools du Québec (SAQ) has just completed its first fundraising campaign of 2023 for the Food Banks of Quebec (FBQ) network. Thanks to the generosity of our customers and involvement of our employees, we are today giving a total of $943,913 to the FBQ.

“Gratitude to the customers who once again generously answered our call,” said Catherine Dagenais, President and Chief Executive Officer of the SAQ. “While food security is the SAQ’s corporate cause, it’s our employees across Quebec who are the ambassadors to our customers. Without them and their involvement, a major campaign like this would not have been possible. It makes me proud to be a member of the big SAQ family, as does the fact that the entire organization not only contributes to the FBQ but has done so for nearly 15 years.”

“Continuing the trend of recent years, our review of 2022 concludes that the number of Quebecers forced to rely on food assistance has gone up,” said Martin Munger, Executive Director of Food Banks of Quebec. “The funds we’re receiving from the SAQ today will make a big difference for us! Many thanks to the SAQ and its customers and employees, who are helping us to assist people dealing with food insecurity.”
