Tasting and service

When to pop open the bubbly

Everyone pops open the bubbly on special occasions, but it can just as easily be served at a laid-back dinner, or impromptu get-together.

Champagne is seen as a wine for celebrations—we often pop the bubbly on special occasions, such as an anniversary or the birth of a child. Yet, it can be drunk in the comfort of your home, no special occasion needed!
Indeed, Champagne is a wine in a category of its own.

Champagne makes the ideal aperitif. We often forget that it’s also one of the easiest wines to pair with food, because of its effervescence, which helps cleanse the palate between courses, and because of its remarkable balance and refreshing acidity.

Champagne is the perfect wine to pair with oysters au gratin or seafood paella. It’s also beautiful served with a simple grilled chicken dish. Red meats are a little harder to pair with Champagne, but then again, a sparkling rosé would pair nicely with a succulent piece of grilled meat (hold the sauce!). Let your imagination run wild!

Here are two Champagnes that can be enjoyed anytime,
and which are sure to pair marvelously with more refined dishes…

Happy tasting!
