Hero to some, strange persona to others, Reinhard Löwenstein was one of the first to make grand dry Rieslings in the 90's from vines grown on the Winningen hillsides, one of the world's most abrupt vineyards. His approach is centered on terroir expression and a meticulous parcel selection. Von Blauem Schiefer, a cuvee born from a tiny 1.5-hectare land, is simply sublime.
