Diamond Creek Red Rock Terrace Cabernet Sauvignon 2010
Detailed info
After making his fortune in the pharmaceutical industry in the 1950s, Al Brounstein's dream of owning a Napa Valley vineyard finally came to fruition. His fascination with wine grew until 1968 when, following the advice of other producers in the region, he dedicated himself to his work on the inhospitable slopes of Diamond Mountain and planted his first vines. Well aware that his plot of land had certain particularities, he produced his first vintage in 1972 from three distinct cuvées made from each of his main soil types and all using his favourite varietal-the Cabernet Sauvignon. Mr. Brounstein carefully preserved the original ecosystem of his high-perched vineyards. His plots, located on different slopes, are all based on the model of the great wines of Bordeaux. After he passed away in 2006, his wife, Boots, took the reins and continued the work that her husband had begun.
