Donations of American Products
We are taking action in response to the Minister of Finance’s request to allow American products nearing their expiry date to be donated to organizations in Quebec. This initiative will be carried out in accordance with our Donation and Sponsorship Policy. Our teams are already mobilized to implement the necessary logistics and bring this initiative to fruition as quickly as possible.
To proceed, we invite you to consult the SAQ’s Donation and Sponsorship Policy to verify your eligibility.
Please note the following:
- The quantity and selection of products are at the sole discretion of the SAQ.
- Specific product requests will not be accepted.
- Donated products may not be resold or auctioned.
- The organization must hold the required permits to serve these products as part of fundraising activities.
- Requests will be processed on a first-come, first-served basis, with priority given to organizations already supported by the SAQ.
Interested organizations are invited to submit their request to: dons.commandites@saq.qc.ca.
While we cannot guarantee a favourable response to all requests, we will do our utmost to accommodate as many as possible. For all other sponsorship requests, please refer to the procedure below.

Through its donation and sponsorship program, the SAQ contributes to the economic and social vitality of regions throughout Quebec by investing more than $3,5 million annually in 125 organisations and events connected to the major issues of our society.

Cultural organizations
The spirit of letting culture shine. The SAQ is at the heart of culture and moments of togetherness by partnering with your favourite events and organizations.


Wine and spirits industry
The taste of contributing and stimulating. Given the SAQ’s mission, this sector is essential. The SAQ supports the wine and spirits industry by partnering with numerous trade shows and through its collaborations with industry stakeholders.


Food assistance
Since it’s important to eat well before drinking, the SAQ is committed to fighting hunger by supporting the Food Banqs of Quebec and La Tablée des Chefs. It also supports the various Moisson organizations throughout Quebec.


Event
The SAQ is involved in a myriad of events across the province, from major metropolitan festivals to the regional wine fairs.


Social
Through social sponsorship, the SAQ offers its support to several organizations in health, culture, education and humanitarian aid.


The SAQ has recently modified the selection criteria and supported sectors. The new policy will be in effect in the fall of 2025.
Details
In order to be eligible for a donation or sponsorship, the organization or event must meet all the criteria and requirements associated with the areas of intervention designated in the Donation and Sponsorship Policy.

Each application is analyzed according to the SAQ's business priorities and allocated budgets. Thus, even if an organization or event meets all the criteria, it does not commit the SAQ to grant it a donation or sponsorship. Similarly, a contribution to an organization in a given sector does not necessarily commit the SAQ to supporting all organizations operating in the same sector

- A festival
December 1 for events held between April 1 and March 31 of every year.

At all times. Your request must be submitted 90 days prior to your event.
The response time is 6 to 8 weeks.Wine and spirits industry and strategic partnerships
Dealine to apply:

Answers will be sent by mid-March. - The applicant organization must:
- work in one of the fields supported by the SAQ, namely culture or food assistance OR be the organizer of an event or festival reaching a critical mass of people;
- hold the event or project for which it is requesting a donation or sponsorship on Quebec territory and address a Quebec clientele over the age of majority;
- represent a group of individuals. The donation or sponsorship cannot be made for the benefit of a single individual (except for sommelier grants)
- have official status and a registration number as a non-profit or public agency;
- demonstrate sound management;
- provide annual audited financial statements or other supporting documentation upon request, as required;
- promote eco-responsible practices;
- have a board of directors composed mainly of independent members;
- not be associated, nor its event, with a religious or political cause.
