Stag's Leap Hands of Time Red Blend 2019

Warren Winiarski was a young political science lecturer from Chicago in the 1960s when he decided to pull up stakes and move his family to the Napa Valley. His close relationships with oenologists and his remarkable skills in the cellar got him a job working for a Sonoma producer before joining Robert Mondavi's team. Mr. Winiarski was scouring the region for a rare pearl when he found a Cabernet Sauvignon made by Nathan Fay in Stags Leap (AVA since 1989) that bowled him over. Opportunity knocked at his door when he learned that the neighbouring ranch was up for sale. On his new 18-hectare vineyard, he chose to plant Cabernet Sauvignon and some Merlot. Stag's Leap Wine Cellars was officially on its way. This well-reputed winery has belonged to Piero Antinori (Marchesi Antinori) and Washington State's Chateau Ste. Michelle since 2007.
