Kistler Sonoma Coast Pinot Noir 2014
Detailed info
Founded in 1978, Kistler estate is born from the meeting of Steve Kistler and Mark Bixler while they were both still students at Fresno University. An English literature graduate, Steve Kistler studied at UC Davis before working at Ridge Vineyard in 1975. That's when he fell in love with Burgundy and perfected his winemaking technique. Mark Bixler is more of a communications guy. North of Sebastopol, in Sonoma County, the two partners are hard at work creating fine wines in a Burgundy way. This one definitely has that «pinote» factor as they say, presenting all characteristics of said Pinot on top of all the beautiful nuances of the West Coast. A wine showcasing amazing balance, where dried flowers, spice, smoke and red fruit notes last and last.
