Detailed info
« François Perrin compares the 2001 vintage to the spectacular 1990. He combines Grenache Noir (30%), Mourvèdre (30%), Syrah (10%) and Counoise (10%) with the other grape varieties permitted by the Châteauneuf-du-Pape appellation. A deep tile-red, this wine reveals hints of stewed black fruit, licorice, hoisin sauce, earth, potpourri, cocoa, plums, nuts and vanilla. This wine is opulent and rich with a long, reasonably complex, generous palate and tannins that will become even more refined over time. According to critics Michel Bettane and Thierry Desseauve, this «is one of the greatest Beaucastels of the past 15 years.» Amazing!»
