Detailed info
Left in abandon after being purchased from his grandfather, the family vineyard was brought back to life by the bubbling and passionate Michel Chapoutier, established at Tain l'Hermitage. He knows his parcels like the back of his hand! When looking for the wine to express the terroir, you must find balance again in the soil's microbiology. The typical land qualities can therefore be revealed by isolating unique parcels, like in this cuvee where Grenache vines reach the venerable age of 90 years. Barbe Rac offers an intense bouquet of kirsch, clove, licorice, nutmeg, Morello cherry and plum - astounding and seductive. Already good to drink, but can be observed for the next ten years.
