Michel & Stéphane Ogier Lancement 2010
Detailed info
Until 30 years ago, their fruit was sold to brokers, but Michel and son Stéphane, who joined in 1997, decided to produce their own wines, which are made in accordance with a philosophy that prizes fi nesse and elegance over concentration and power. The Ogiers live in Ampuis and own 12 distinct parcels of property in the Côte-Rôtie appellation. These parcels are the origin of the much sought-after, small-scale production wines Lancement and Belle Hélène. They are the pinnacle of winemaking thanks to the dedication of this new generation of winemakers.
«The 2010 Côte-Rôtie Lancement fl irts with perfection, but, sadly, only six barrels (1,600 bottles) were produced. A sublime wine with a stunning nose of spring fl owers, apricot marmalade, crème de cassis and raspberry liqueur, it is a full-bodied, inky, incredibly rich, complex, multidimensional red to drink over the next 15+ years.»
