Among the most highly regarded estates in Burgundy, Domaine Leroy is steered by none other than Lalou Bize-Leroy. Former co-manager of the mythic Domaine de la Romanée-Conti along with Aubert de Vilaine and responsible for propelling the quality of its crus to unparalleled heights, she applies the same vitality and approach today to her own cuvées. A veritable living legend, she works with a collection of terroirs, where the vine is tended to following biodynamic principles. To give full expression to typicity, grape yields are kept extremely low and are subject to the strictest scrutiny during sorting. Such excellence continues in the cellar, where attention to detail and rigour are the order of the day. The reds are produced from whole bunches, with a slow and long fermentation using natural yeasts. Unfiltered and unfined, the wines beautifully communicate the secrets of their home terroirs, travelling across time with brio.
