Detailed info
A very different style of wine than that of its Haut-Brion neighbour. A balanced wine dominated by Sémillon (76%) giving it volume and sophistication. The use of Sauvignon gives this wine its freshness and purity.
Beginning with the 2009 vintage, the estate's white wine has borne the name Château La Mission Haut-Brion. The Woltner family, owners from 1919 to 1983, bottled the first white in 1927. A few years later, they bestowed upon it the name Laville Haut-Brion, in reference to Marie Laville, the estate's mistress in 1611. Today the white is sourced from a tiny parcel of land hardly three hectares in size and produced in a scant quantity of a few hundred cases a year. It parts company with its Haut-Brion neighbour when it comes to the final assemblage, in which the great Sémillon has the clear upper hand. Haut-Brion's team has spun its magic once again!ES 90-92 WS 93-96 BD 96 WA 93-95 Drink now or keep until 2025
