Detailed info
Despite being so young, this wine has excellent complexity - combining fruity aromas and a delicate minerality. On the palate it joyfully expresses harmony and sophistication.
Jean-Pierre Moueix took the reins of Château La Fleur-Pétrus in 1950. A few years later, the vineyard was decimated by the disastrous 1956 winter freeze, requiring the vines to be completely replanted. Though the 1980s were notable for a series of parcel swaps with Château La Grave à Pomerol, it was not until 1994 with the addition of 4.1 hectares of old vines sourced from Château Le Gay that La Fleur-Pétrus started to gain serious traction. Today Jean-Pierre Moueix's son and grandson, Christian and Édouard, are ensuring that the cru's astonishing ascent continues.ES 90-92 WS 89-92 BD 92
