Château Angélus premier Grand Cru Classé 2013
Detailed info
Hubert de Boüard has put his talents to excellent use at this Château. The blend is dominated by Merlot (62%) and complemented by Cabernet Franc (38%). A powerful wine with the refined tannins you expect from such exceptional wines.Hubert de Boüard spent his childhood at Angélus. He took over the lead from his father and uncle in 1985 and spent years perfecting his technique until he achieved what he felt was flawless balance in 1995. His passion for innovation, whether at the vine or in the cellar, bore fruit when Château Angélus joined Ausone and Cheval Blanc at the summit of Premier Grand Cru Classé A in the 2012 Saint-Émilion classification. De Boüard is particularly proud of his 60-year-old Cabernet Francs grown on 10 hectares, which make a weighty contribution to the final assemblage. Château Angélus commands respect.
