Domaine Marquis d'Angerville Volnay Premier Cru Clos des Ducs 2014
Detailed info
Masterfully managed by Guillaume d'Angerville, the estate was converted to biodynamic agriculture in 2006. It covers roughly 15 hectares and makes the most of the incredible array of terroirs offered by Volnay. In addition to Clos des Ducs, a monopole of 2.15 hectares adjacent to the property and the jewel in the estate's crown, their wines have always shunned trends and have a rare level of refinement and develop beautifully over time.
«A very complex and introverted, but captivating bouquet that draws you in.... The palate is sensual on the entry. There is roundness and depth here, coupled with very good substance, a hint of white pepper perhaps, and as always, with immense precision on the finish.... A very aristocratic Volnay for long term aging.»
