Domaine de Courcel Pommard Premier Cru Grand Clos des Épenots 2014
Detailed info
In 1996, Domaine de Courcel took a new direction in quality by hiring Yves Confuron to oversee the winemaking. This passionate co-director of the equally reputable Domaine Confuron-Cotétidot in Vosne-Romanée is the man responsible for discovering the remarkable Pommard terroir. To accomplish this he applied sustainable and organic agriculture to the estate's 9.5 hectares of Pinot Noir, five of which are in Grand Clos des Épenots.
«Aromas of redcurrant, iron and raw meat complicated by sexy soil tones. Brisk, intense and tight-grained, showing excellent definition and lift to its flavors of redcurrant and dried flowers. Tactile, bright, weightless wine with a long, juicy finish.»
