“2015 may be the best Francisca yet. It shows subtle concentration with a more tightly wound feel than most and fresh, delicious fruit. The Sousão this year, Cristiano told me, was fermented alone in lagares, making it more obvious in the unusual blend. This bottling has never shown so much tension and freshness—credit the vintage, too, not just the grapes—yet it has the concentration to absorb it. If this isn't the best Francisca yet, I'll be surprised. It seems simply exceptional, while still remarkably elegant.”
