Did you know:
A traditional drink in the Deep South, the Mint Julep is also the official cocktail of the Kentucky Derby, the famous horserace that takes place every May in Louisville, Kentucky. The mint beverage became the event's signature cocktail in 1938, when it was served in a souvenir glass for the sum of . . . 75 cents. Today, more than 100,000 Mint Juleps are downed each year during the event.
