    Cellaring potential: 2024-2040

“This is a gorgeous wine that will undoubtedly evolve toward additional silkiness and finesse with more bottle age. This is one of the icon wines of Italy, and its reputation has been carefully built over generations. The 2018 Trebbiano d'Abruzzo plays its best cards in the mouth thanks to its seamless and fluid delivery. The wine is creamy and dense with peach cobbler and bakery aromas, yet it's fleeting and ethereal at the same time. There is a lot of movement and dimension to this vintage that saw a cool spring and a hot summer.”

“Serious, fulfilling nose but super elegant, with subtle spices, sage, spearmint, heather, ink, dark chocolate, red-berry fruit and blueberries. A refreshing citrus note, reminiscent of bergamot. Almost plush but nothing heavy here, instead, this is quite ethereal with agility on the palate with even, ultra-fine tannins that are beguilingly sweet. The silky, fresh and persistent finish lasts almost two minutes.”

  3. WA 94, WS 95, V 95, JS 97

“Inviting aromas of chocolate-covered cherry, dried rose petal and petrichor set the stage for this well-structured red, which balances concentrated berry and mission fig flavors against vibrant acidity, lending a lush, mouthwatering quality to a finish that swirls with cassis, spices and fine tannins. Drink now through 2038.”

  4. JS 100

“Imagine gorging yourself on a whole handful of the ripest wild blackberries and that is the beginning of this great journey! On the palate there's a breathtaking interplay of mineral freshness with a small ocean of berry fruit and super-fine tannins. An endless finish that's so complex and so vibrant it makes you glad to be alive. Decades of aging potential.”

“Still very youthful, this powerful and highly structured Moulin-a-Vent has excellent freshness for the very hot and dry vintage. In fact it still needs some time to open up and reveal its rich treasures. Ripe cherries and a touch of Damson plums on the nose, also a wealth of spicy nuances. Compact core of fine tannins, which drive the very long finish, where there's a wonderful mineral freshness.”

Top 100 Wines of France 2022 # 9 + Top 100 Value Wines #3 "Deep and mysterious, with aromas right across the dark side of the spectrum, from violets to forest berries via savory notes, this remarkable Morgon has the concentration, power and finesse of a top Grand Cru from the Cote de Nuits! An almost perfect marriage of fine tannins and richness right through the staggering finish. Enormous aging potential. Sustainable. Drink or hold."
