Tignanello

Tign at the top

Just in time for the holidays, enjoy a fresh drop of the ever-popular king of Tuscan wines, Tignanello by Antinori.  It’s the perfect gift for Italian wine lovers, and a must for collectors. As for all great things in life, quantities are limited, and a bottle max is set.

The 2021 vintage marks the 50th anniversary of this super Tuscan.

The same cuvée just scored the no 3 spot of the Wine Spectator 2024 Top 100.

"A game changer for Tuscany and Italy, Tignanello remains one of Italy’s greatest reds, revealing added finesse and purity from this superb harvest."

    - Wine Spectator

“...the wine shows a quintessentially pretty taste profile with tart fruit flavors, redcurrant, tea leaf, heritage rose, crushed white pepper, licorice, nutmeg, clove and chopped mint. It opens slowly to reveal more richness and exuberance with time, becoming downright voluptuous and heady a short while later. The through line, however, remains the bright freshness and minerality of Sangiovese. Compared to the 2018 vintage (which I also loved), this vintage has more overall fruit weight and volume.”

"The 2020 Tignanello is so primary, so intensely fruit-driven, that it almost tastes like a barrel sample. A burst of red Sangiovese fruit opens first, followed by hints of blood orange, cinnamon, spice, dried flowers and mocha later. Time in the glass brings out striking dimension. In 2020, Tignanello is wonderfully sleek and racy, with fine tannins that lie below a core of bright, sculpted fruit. The balance here is just sublime. I can’t wait to revisit the 2020 with age. "We are gradually increasing the Cabernet Franc in Tignanello to balance the greater richness that today’s warmer seasons are giving to our Sangioveses", Antinori Renzo Cotarella told me."
