Winesicles
Ingredients
Tickled-Pink Winesicles:
- 250 ml (1 cup) water
- 180 ml (3/4 cup) sugar
- 4 sprigs thyme, leaves only
- 1 sachet unflavoured gelatin
- 250 ml (1 cup) dry rosé wine
- 500 ml (2 cups) pink-grapefruit juice
Red Passion Winesicles:
- 250 ml (1 cup) water
- 180 ml (3/4 cup) sugar
- 2 sprigs rosemary, leaves only
- 1 sachet unflavoured gelatin
- 250 ml (1 cup) light red wine
- 500 ml (2 cups) red cranberry juice
Sunny Yellow Winesicles:
- 250 ml (1 cup) water
- 180 ml (3/4 cup) sugar
- 125 ml (1/2 cup) of chopped basil
- 1 sachet unflavoured gelatin
- 250 ml (1 cup) dry white wine
- 500 ml (2 cups) orange juice
Preparation
Steps are the same for the versions:
- In a saucepan, bring the water to a boil with the sugar and thyme leaves (or rosemary, or basil).
- Remove from the burner and dissolve the gelatin in the water, stirring constantly. Set aside.
- Pour the wine and the juice into a pitcher. Add the sugar syrup, pouring it through a strainer. Stir.
- Divide the preparation among popsicle moulds and freeze for at least eight hours.
