National Scotch Day

  1. Talisker, founded in 1830, has for motto « the single malt made by the sea ». Surrounded by the majestic scenery of the Isle of Skye, the distillery is famous for its malts displaying the intense iodine and smoky notes typical of Skye that connoisseurs are so fond of. The 10 Year-old showcases an aromatic spectrum dominated by smoke and completed by spicy touches reminiscent of pepper and graphite.

  2. One of the only distilleries still in operation on the south side of Islay with its neighbors Ardbeg and Laphroaig, Lagavulin offers an 8-year-old version to commemorate its 200th anniversary. Marked with peaty and smoky notes specific to this address, this single malt adds accents of pepper, citrus, nuts and honey, in an elegant and warm finish.
  3. The Walkers empire was built upon the Red Label, the best-selling Scottish whisky in the world today. It is appreciated for its pronounced, fruity, spicy and slightly smoky flavours. Perfect to liven up your cocktails, it remains a great choice to begin your exploration of whiskies.

For the first time in the company's long history, a woman, Emma Walker (no relation to the Walker family) has taken on the role of Master Blender since the end of 2021, succeeding the legendary Jim Beveridge. A new era begins with the appointment of this highly respected expert who has a vast knowledge of all the areas involved in whisky production. As Ms Walker says: "I love experimenting and innovating with flavour and we’ll be working hard to not only continue to deliver the unrivalled quality that we are renowned for but also introducing blends to appeal to a new generation of Scotch Whisky fans."

With a history spanning over 200 years, Johnnie Walker has developed a unique expertise in crafting blended Scotches. Now presiding over the most important reserves in the world, the company grew exponentially under the guidance of the son's founder, Alexander Walker, who implemented the emblematic square bottle and made the brand a global player known for the quality and consistency still appreciated today by blended Scotch lovers.

  4. Jim Murray, author of « Whisky Bible », considers Black Label « the Savoy, the Everest of deluxe whiskies ». With a privileged access to Scotland's most prized distilleries, Johnnie Walker expertly blends powerful west coast malts with more subtle east coast flavours to create a 12 Year-Old that is smooth and complex, with flavours of cooked fruit, toffee and orange peel, culminating into a slightly peaty finish.

Sublime! Blue Label stems from Johnnie Walker's rarest casks and is crafted to evoke the taste and personality typical of early 19th century whiskies. Its slightly woody and smoky nose is followed by an ample mouthfeel supported by a velvety texture and aromas of dried fruit, cocoa, cooked apple and cedar.

  6. Dalwhinnie Distillery, named after the eponymous Highlands village where it is located, was actually called Strathspey when it started its activities in 1898 but was renamed the same year after a change of ownership. The 15 Year-Old is a single malt that is full of character with its aromas of pear and exotic fruit completed by smoky notes.
