Ingredients
- 45 ml (1 1/2 oz.) vodka
- 15 ml (1/2 oz.) cherry brandy
- 90 ml (3 oz.) club soda
- 60 ml (2 oz.) apple juice
- 60 ml (2 oz.) grape juice
- 2 star anise
- 3 ice cubes
- 1 sprig fennel (optional)

Pour each of the cherry brandy, apple juice, grape juice and club soda over the back of a spoon into a highball glass containing a few ice cubes to form a layered cocktail.
Place one star anise in a shaker and crush using a muddler.
Add ice cubes and vodka.
Shake vigorously for 8 to 10 seconds.
Strain into a highball glass using an ice strainer.
