Autour de Jonquières is the flagship cuvée of Mas Jullien estate and also the place where the estate is located, about forty kilometers north of Montpellier on the Terrasses-du-Larzac. Made from a blend of Carignan, Mourvèdre and Syrah, aged for 24 months separately in barrels and tuns, then another year in bottles, Autour de Jonquières is a powerful, deep, digestible and precise wine to keep in the cellar certainly for a few years, or decant it if tasted in its early youth. Winemaker Olivier Jullien is admired for the quality of his 18 hectares of vines worked at low yields and according to the principles of biodynamics, and for the uncompromising balance of his deliciously southern wines.
