"This is at once the spiciest and the most floral-suffused nose in the range with its ripe yet ultra-fresh nose of various dark berries, anise and newly turned earth scents. The mouthfeel is also intriguing as it combines excellent density with an appealing sleekness that carries over to the mineral-driven, powerful and compact finale that is wonderfully persistent if very clearly built-to-age. This is almost always Pavelot's best wine and it is highly likely to be so in 2022 as well." www.burghound.com

"The palate is where the action is, consisting of very fine-boned tannins and perfectly judged acidity. A pixelated finish beckons you back for more. Superb."

"Under the benevolent eye of Dominique Lafon since 2006, Caroline Gon has managed the 26 hectares of vines of this estate, a beautiful locomotive of the Mâconnais terroirs: She now joins her husband Frantz Chagnoleau on the eponymous estate, and hands over responsibility for the wines to her colleague Elsie Moore. Léa and Pierre Lafon, Dominique's children, are now at the helm of the estate, whose vines are certified organic. Nearly 170,000 bottles are produced with great regularity of quality, in a pure and chiselled style, without ostentatious oak, combining ageing in tuns and demi-muids."
