Here are 10 wines to discover among those awarded at the 30th edition of Sélections Mondiales des Vins Canada. This major competition took place from October 11 to 15, 2023 at the Institut de tourisme et d'hôtellerie du Québec (ITHQ).

Present in Tuscany since 1141, the Ricasolis claim to be the oldest Italian winery. In addition to its ancestral know-how, the family benefits from the advice of renowned oenologist Carlo Ferrini. This classic cuvée comes from vineyards located on the five most representative terroirs of Brolio. Fermentation is done in stainless steel vats followed by an aging period of 21 months in barrels and large barrels, for a perfectly integrated woody touch. Brilliant with Beefsteak Fiorentina or pasta with Bolognese sauce.

In the northern region of Israel, in Upper Galilee, a wild and mountainous area of stretches the vineyards of Galil Mountain Winery. Established in 2000 and located in the kibbutz Yiron, the winery conducts its activities in perfect harmony with the surrounding nature. The Galil Alon 2020 is a blend of Syrah, Cabernet Sauvignon, and Petit Verdot aged for twelve months in French oak barrels. Full-bodied and oaky, it will appeal to lovers of beefy wines.
