One of the pioneer wineries of the modern era of wine in Napa Valley, it was founded in 1973 by a group of wine lovers who wanted to trade it. It was under the leadership of Justin Meyer, founder and winemaker at Silver Oak that it all started in 1975, with the philosophy of vinifying in small batches in the cellar. In fact, there are 40 separate plots on about 240 acres of vines, each vat then allows for an appropriate stylistic expression during transformation.
