Present in Tuscany since 1141, the Ricasoli claim the paternity of the oldest Italian wine business. On top of the ancestral know-how, the family works with the reputed oenologist Carlo Ferrini. Dominated by Sangiovese and complete with Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon, this Chianti enjoys en 18-month élevage in oak casks. Fruit, torrefaction, spices, vanilla; this red has good volume in the mouth, refined tannins and a pleasing length.
