Artazu is to Navarre what Artadi is to Rioja, a flagship estate of its region combining a healthy viticulture to modern winemaking. Juan Carlos Lopez de Lacalle launched this project in 1996 from 13 hectares of old Grenache vine stocks. The idea was to produce two «village» wines, one from Santa Cruz and this one from San Martin. The opaque colour reveals fruity, floral, empyreumatic and spicy nuances. Superb definition in the mouth, ample and full of bright fruit, it also displays notes of cassis, blackberry to licorice, tobacco and violet. Absolutely delicious.
