Who hasn't heard of the trio behind Vins de Vienne? Pierre Gaillard, Yves Cuilleron and François Villard share a solid friendship and, when it comes to winemaking, the same quality standards. Meaning «lady bug» in the local dialect, the pimpignole is the growers» friend. It invades the vineyard looking for shade and greenflies. A majority of Grenache is assembled to Syrah and Mourvèdre to obtain a nicely colored Gigondas marked by aromas of cassis, licorice, garrigue and violet. A cellaring period of five to eight years is totally in the cards.
