Il a donc la finesse et l'élégance particulières du calcaire, il est parfumé et élégant et possède une bouche veloutée aux tannins très fins et crayeux. Il est désormais plus bourguignon que Rhône, issu d'une année fraîche aux rouges très parfumés.
