"The Peña Caballera is a single-vineyard wine (1.5 hectares), the top of the range for Marañones, pure Grenache (12 months total aging inside used 500-liter French oak barrels), from a beautiful, mountain vineyard (850 meters), on a north-facing slope surrounded by forests and planted with very old vines that are gobletpruned on granite soils with some cherry trees in the middle of the vineyard.... This is a wine about length, complexity, tension and vertical lift, with nerve and electricity. An introverted, serious Grenache that represents good value."
