Kumeu River Village Chardonnay 2023

For renowned British critic Tim Atkin, this New Zealand white has nothing to envy to several Burgundian Puligny-Montrachet. The Brajkovich family, originally from Croatia, is a master in the art of making white wines from Chardonnay in the north of Auckland, in Kumeu, on the North Island. In this cuvée, only a part has been fermented in barrels, leaving more room for fruity and mineral notes. The wood is well proportioned with beautiful toasty accents, and the wine keeps plenty of freshness in a mouth marked by notes of Golden apple, white peach and citrus. Perfect on a cheese board at the end of a meal, sublime on carbonara pasta.
