    Well known here for its Montilla-Moriles fortified wines, Alvear also owns a hundred hectares in Extremadura, a region in south-west Spain bordering Portugal. Led by the group behind Envà­nate, Palacio Quemado is a "vino de pago", a recognition that highlights the distinctive elite estates that benefit from an exceptional terroir. The Zarcita cuvée is supple, digestible, spicy, floral and fruity. Congrats!
