Unfiltered cider

Ciders on the rise

Ever heard about Origine Québec unfiltered ciders, also called cloudy ciders? If you like natural wines, there’s a good chance you’ll like these ciders too. Just like natural wines, unfiltered ciders adopt a back-to-basics approach to fully let the raw material express its true nature, and they’re gaining in popularity. Explore our selection of unfiltered ciders now, they’re perfect as host or hostess gifts and for your holiday brunches.

  1. "Fruity and floral, this cider opens on scents of ripe apple. This is followed by a tropical olfactory festival consisting of pineapple, mango and starfruit. Then, when the cider opens up, you’ll discover a delicate bouquet of lilies of the valley and fragrant rose, the freshness of cucumber and lime zest. Very expressive in the mouth, apple, pineapple and lily of the valley predominate and invite to take another sip. Dry and moderately acidic, this cider is versatile and can be enjoyed on its own or with fresh and spicy dishes such as guacamole, shrimp aguachile or a traditional lobster roll."

  2. 2022 NEW PRODUCT

"It was natural for us to incorporate oak barrels  into our arsenal of fermentation tanks. The Déchainé is a blend from our best vats and barrels, carefully selected, then refermented in the bottle for a generous foaming. Of great complexity, the Déchainé is distinguished by its balance, with just enough funk to surprise you. With a beautiful straw colour, its fine bubbles transmit aromas of lemon, flowers and vanilla. On the palate, a frank acidity gives way to herbal notes associated with spring undergrowth."

  3. "What’s great about Le Sauvage is that it continues to evolve in the bottle over time! In its youth, it will refresh you for sure with its lively acidity and lemony aspect. After a few months of aging, your palate will be surprised by its farmer side reminiscent of freshly cut hay, field strawberry and a hint of animal notes. Its acidity will also decrease over time. On the palate, it impresses with its ample texture, supple tannins and its dry, persistent finish. Complex ciders such as this one will be great on your table! Cheese fondue, oysters and shellfish, barbecued pork loin, fish tacos, name it!"

  6. "Frank taste of fresh and acidic apple on the palate, which ends with a sour and refreshing taste. Unlike a filtered cider, this one really keeps all the apple aromas, the effect of the yeasts that consumed the sugars. The bright acidity will make you salivate and has great potential to cut into fatty dishes! Perfect as an aperitif. Dare to pair it with poutine for guaranteed success. It will also be great with an arugula salad with seasonal vegetables, hot goat cheese tartine, fajitas, fish and chips with a dash of lime or a ramen soup."

  7. Inspired by Breton ciders, this one is made from wild apples harvested around the village of Hemmingford. Fermented in-bottle with indigenous yeasts, this pet-nat offers beautiful smoky and undergrowth notes, all complemented by citrus and peach. Released in suspension, the lees will bring roundness, density and contribute to the tannic and bitter side. An authentic product to discover while eating a croque-monsieur, a raclette or a tartiflette.
