Torres is one of the most admired wine companies in the world, an incredible recognition for a family-owned winery. Its success can be explained, among other things, by the visionary spirit of its president, Mr. Miguel Torres, recently selected by the American media TIME in its 2023 list of the 100 business leaders with the most influence in the fight against climatic changes. A pioneer and dedicated to the field of eco-responsibility and social causes, it is not surprising to learn that Torres was also at the forefront in the production of low-alcohol wine by launching the Natureo range in 2008. Thanks to a dealcoholization process, it promises a similar organoleptic profile as regular wine, at an alcohol level of 0.5% or less.
This balmy January, we invite you to test four cuvées: a white, a red, a rosé and a sparkling wine, all at 0.5% alcohol or less and priced under $11. With these different profiles, you have everything you need to create low-alcohol pairings with varied dishes while keeping with your goals and budget.
By far the most popular alcohol-free wine and even among the best sellers among traditional wines, this cuvée delivers all the exuberant side of the Muscat grape. Its notes of elderflower, orange blossoms and fresh grapes appeal to both aperitifs and Asian dishes. Fruity and sweet, a touch of residual sugar characterizes it and contributes to giving it the classic touch of a regular wine.
This Spanish red wine is produced from Grenache and Syrah varieties, made in the traditional way and aged in oak barrels before being subjected to a process to dealcoholize it. At 0.5% it offers a very fruity taste with a touch of spice. Perfect with a good pizza or a mushroom grilled cheese on a weeknight.
Made of Syrah and Cabernet Sauvignon, this dealcoholized rosé offers floral notes on the nose and a palate dominated by red berries and a vegetal touch. At 0.5% alcohol, it seems to offer a similar profile to traditional rosé according to customer reviews, which are quite rave. At this price, there’s no reason not to try it with shrimp or a spinach-strawberry salad.
If you’re looking for a bubbly, this is another very popular option with customers. At 0.0% alcohol, this semi-dry sparkling wine made from 100% Muscat of Alexandria offers notes of banana, coconut and tropical fruits. The bubbles are lively and abundant, making it a great option to whet your appetite as an aperitif. Bonus points for its price point. Try it at brunch with crepes or for occasions big and small.
