PIWOSA (Premium Independent Wineries of South Africa), as its name suggests, is an association of premium independent wine producers from the various wine growing regions of the Western Cape in South Africa.
While each vineyard benefits from unique microclimates and soils, it is their desire to publicize the high potential of their collective wine region that unites them. In the great world of high-end wines, South Africa is increasingly carving out a place of choice for its accessibility.
In addition to this qualitative quest, all producers of the association are driven by a concern for sustainability and believe that to achieve these environmental objectives, production must first and foremost be ethical. This is why all members abide by a charter of values (responsibility, justice, community involvement and more) which guides every action and decision.

Radford Dale Freedom Pinot No. Elgin
Radford Dale was established in Stellenbosch in 1998. The vineyard is managed using sustainable agriculture and each cuvée is meticulously crafted. Ken Forrester The Misfits Nature Cinsault Piekenierskloo
This 100% Cinsault vintage was born from an experimental project in search of preserving the natural fruity character of the grapes. The team performed a comparative fermentation test with and without stems to see the profile of each result, and finally assembled them together. The result is a lively and fresh cuvée with natural fruity grape aromas that envelop the mouth. Mission accomplished!
Sauvignon blanc Klein Constantia
This white is a blend of different parcels of Sauvignon from the estate, vinified separately, then meticulously blended to properly represent the Constantia style. The nose reveals aromas of lemon, peach and nectarine and a touch of minerality on the finish. The palate, fresh and lively, is nicely textured with well-balanced acidity.
Avondale Jonty's Duck Pekin
Although it originates from the Loire, it’s in South Africa that Chenin is found in greater quantities. Dominant in this blend, it displays a fruity and honeyed character here, in a caressing mouth. For fans of an aromatic and mellow profile. Organic and fantastic quality-price ratio.
Journey's End V1 Chardonnay
This cuvée offers delicate notes of citrus and orange blossom. Resolutely fruity, it offers a beautiful liveliness as well mineral notes you can expect from this very coastal style of Chardonnay. Delicious now but could reward your patience after a few years in the cellar.
Glenelly Estate Reserve Afrique du Sud
May-Eliane de Lencquesaing modernized the Glenelly estate after spending 30 years at the head of the famous Château Pichon Longueville Comtesse de Lalande of Pauillac. Her South-African estate is now receiving praise from critics thanks to her cuvées that present strong character such as this tannic red suggesting aromas of smoke, cocoa, cherry and blackcurrant.
Springfield Estate The Work of Time
It was a desire to create a Bordeaux blend that motivated Springfield Estate to plant vines from four typical French varieties on their land. Nine years later, at a maturity deemed interesting, followed a whole-bunch fermentation with native yeasts, several weeks of skin maceration, two years of aging in barrels, then four in bottles. And thus, The Work of Time was born.
Paul Cluver Chardonnay Elgin
This estate is a very small family production where four of the five Cluver brothers and sisters took the reigns from their parents. The vineyard is located 10km from the Atlantic Ocean and benefits from some of the most temperate conditions in the country. Made from 100% hand-harvested Chardonnay, this white offers a lovely bouquet of citrus, almond and white flowers that can also be found on the palate, which is fresh with a nicely balanced texture.
