The fund’s goal is to initiate, stimulate and support projects with a social, environmental and economic impact that contribute to local development. Since its launch, the FIL has stimulated community initiatives and collaboration with community players and innovation networks, particularly in the social economy and social innovation fields.

Several partners involved in the Fonds d’initiatives locales

Initiated by Mercier–Hochelaga-Maisonneuve Borough and supported by PME MTL Centre-Est, the creation of the Fonds d’initiatives locales Guybourg–Haig-Beauclerk has been made possible by funding from the Mercier–Hochelaga-Maisonneuve Borough, the Ville de Montréal, the Société des alcools du Québec (SAQ) and the Montréal Port Authority.

“This commitment by the SAQ of $150,000 over three years is an important lever due to the SAQ’s collaboration with the FIL partners (Port of Montréal, Ville de Montréal, Mercier–Hochelaga-Maisonneuve Borough and PME MTL Centre-Est), which provides a total of more than $500,000 to be invested in the local community over three years,” said Alia Hassan-Cournol, Montréal city councillor for the Maisonneuve–Longue-Pointe District of Mercier–Hochelaga-Maisonneuve Borough.
