Among the joys of the four seasons, feeling reborn after winter has to be one of the most delicious. It's amazing what an extra hour of light in a day can do to our mood, and our desire to get out, move, and entertain our favourite people. For the latter, we have a few wine suggestions, and bubblies to pair with the effervescence in the air.
This popular Prosecco is made from 100% certified organic Glera grapes. Its fruity and lively profile reveals notes of apples, flowers, almonds, and tropical fruits. Extra dry and with fine bubbles, it's perfect as an aperitif, on its own or in a cocktail with seafood bites. At this price, you'll always want to keep a bottle in the fridge!
The wines of this small Spanish bodega, run by Janire Moraza and Quebecer Patricio Brongo, are made from vines cultivated according to biodynamic principles and with the least possible intervention. Easy-drinking, fruity, and floral, this blend of certified organic Grenache and Tempranillo is fermented using natural yeasts and bottled without barrel ageing. Served chilled, it will be a sensation alongside a tuna steak or beef carpaccio.
Ideally planted in the capital of Cava, the local trio of Macabeo, Xarel-lo, and Parellada, now certified organic, finds in Sant Sadurni d'Anoia a privileged terroir for its development. It is produced according to the traditional method (known as champenoise), which involves a secondary fermentation in the bottle. After aging on lees for 18 months, the wine more than deserves its Reserva mention. Delicate, light, fruity, and subtly floral, it will be perfect as an aperitif, with vegetarian starters, seafood, or sushi.
Under the guidance of a young, dynamic winemaker, this Grüner Veltliner takes shape by blending the fruit of several organically cultivated vineyards. It offers a beautiful delicacy and vibrant acidity on the palate. Accents of lemongrass, green apple, and honeydew melon join the mineral and vegetal notes for a very seductive ensemble. Light and refreshing, it lends itself perfectly to various salads or marinated raw fish.
