In June, Distillerie Grand Dérangement founder and CEO Marcel Mailhot invited us to his new distillery, inaugurated in the spring of 2020. It’s there, in Saint-Jacques in the Lanaudière region, that it all happens—with the smallest carbon footprint and the largest circular economy, from ground to glass.

After meeting Madeleine Dufour from La Famille Migneron in Baie-Saint-Paul, I finally understood what she meant by “In Charlevoix, there’s something you can’t explain.” I went there to learn about what they make and was able to see the world through their eyes by discovering their inimitable products

The wine-making business in Quebec is growing fast thanks to the know-how, determination and ingenuity of our local artisans. Join us with 2 local winemakers: Isabelle Lafont from Vignoble Les artisans du terroir and Daniel Lalande from the Rivière du Chêne vineyard and La Cantina vineyard as we discuss the Quebec wine industry.

When you get to Île d’Orléans and turn left, you head towards the more rural part of the island. This is where you’ll find the Domaine Sainte-Famille and its owners, Dominique and Christian. Their orchard is the ideal spot to take a break surrounded by nature.

Located in Montérégie, Côte de Champlain vineyard stands out for its limestone soil and surprising layer of seashells: vestiges from the ancient Champlain Sea that impart a unique richness to the grapes. Christian Dubois, passionate owner and winemaker, invited us in.

The growing trend surrounding natural wines seems to wrap its curiosity around cloudy ciders, too. Priding a back-to-basics approach to fully let the raw material express its true nature while innovating in techniques and product, cloudy cider is gaining in popularity, fans and notoriety.
