Yes, charcoal barbecues in the park during a heat wave are a good time. But it's also a bit intense and requires its share of planning. With the month of August, a favourite among veteran vacationers, you can bet on beautiful and moderately warm days, while enjoying cool evenings that call for a well-filled basket, a little jacket and some bubbles!

We suggest a rendezvous at a park near you, as a couple, with family or friends, with some simple yet tasty grub and of course, chilled sparkling wine. Something classy, special, but totally unfussy. Enthusiasts can always charcoal again at home.

As a bubbly is festive in itself, we can go the high-low route and keep the food simple. And since we like contrasts, combining sparkling wine and sandwiches, foccacia, veggies and dip is exactly the balance we’re after.
