You’ll pick some of his favourite tunes to celebrate this much-loved man on a perfectly summery Sunday. Attentive ear, handyman, outstanding cook; dads have evolved over the years and we celebrate all their wisdom and talents, plus that big-kid side of them we’d never change. So cheers to you, Dad!
The gift of Johnnie
Jim Murray, author of « Whisky Bible », considers Black Label « the Savoy, the Everest of deluxe whiskies ». Johnnie Walker expertly blends powerful west coast malts with more subtle east coast flavours to create a 12 Year-Old that is smooth and complex, with flavours of cooked fruit, toffee and orange peel, culminating into a slightly peaty finish. The Everest of deluxe whiskies sounds like a perfect gift for Dad, doesn’t it?

Champagne!
An emblematic Champagne estate founded in 1827, GH Mumn’s motto is to offer and produce “only the best”. Its Grand Cordon brut cuvée is set apart by its pretty red ribbon, ideal for special occasions. Coming from a long Champagne tradition, it is complex and balanced, with aromas of almond, honey, floral notes, marzipan and apple. Its powerful finish is creamy, while retaining a beautiful effervescence. Ideal for creating magnificent pairings, such as with lobster or potato skins with crab. Because dad likes potatoes, but you want to make it fancy.
Robust and elegant red
For dads who wake up on the weekend with tongs and an apron, this is the perfect red for a barbecue feast. Powerful and structured, it offers a beautiful freshness and a certain elegance. It reveals aromas of cocoa, spices, cooked fruits, garrigue and liquorice as well as silky tannins. A great value that will impress with a flank steak marinated in beer.

Robust red for a grill master
Established in 1999, Arboleda is one of Chile's first estate to adopt environmentally conscious production methods, certified by the country's National Sustainability Code. If Dad loves full-bodied wines, he'll be thrilled by this fleshy Cabernet, tailor-made for red meat dishes. Like this grilled beef tenderloin with chilean pebre sauce.
Lovely organic white
It is as a tribute to his father, who made him “grow” with the different varieties of vegetables that he produced in his garden, that Nicolas Grosbois embarked on a new adventure in creating this white wine. Made from the Mauzac and Colombard grape varieties grown organically near Gaillac, it is vinified with native yeasts by two winegrower brothers. It offers aromas of white fruits, honey, floral notes and apple. Paired with empanadas with shrimp and melon salsa, it would also be a nice tribute to your Dad.
Luxe Brunello
Well established in Montalcino since 1790, the Colombini family began producing this now famous Brunello some 100 years later. At the heart of their production, both innovative and anchored in tradition, this cuvée is made from 100% Sangiovese. It comes from the best vineyards of Montalcino, and from vines whose density is controlled in order to produce a smaller, more qualitative quantity of grapes. The result? A magnificent red with aromas of red berries, rose hips, eucalyptus and Mediterranean herbs, well-integrated tannins and beautiful persistence. If Dad loves great Italian wine, treat him to Florentine steaks on the barbecue. If it’s a gift, tell him that he can keep it in the cellar for many years!
